Insight interAsia attended the annual 3-day Semicon Singapore exhibition at Suntec. We were meeting with existing and new customers, as well as looking at the trends in the local semiconductor marketplace. The attendance was up from last year, which is due to the increasing health of the global semiconductor and solar markets as well as the local spark that the GlobalFoundries presence provided.

Reminder: our booth number is 2526 in the South Hall of Moscone Center for Semicon West in July in San Francisco. Please come by and let us explain how we can help improve your sales in Asia.

Insight interAsia attended an interesting presentation today arranged by the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham), Accenture, and Starhub regarding Singapore’s Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (NGNBN).

The NGNBN is largely underwritten by the Singapore government with $1B. It will be rolled out in three phases and cover 95% of the island by 2013. The domestic Internet and data transfer speeds will then be significantly increased (up to 100Gbpbs).

IIA @ Nissan

Japan Comments Off

Insight interAsia visited Nissan to discuss a new engine pressure sensor technology from one of European principals.

The technology is novel, and can produced in volume less expensively than Japanese auto manufacturers are currently paying.

The strong JP¥ makes these products even more cost-effective.
