Withe pending merger of NEC Electronics and Renesas–both of which we have good relationships with–we visited the NEC Central Research Lab to discuss its role in the new company (to be called Renesas Electronics). We are particularly interested in the PV and basic CMOS R&D plans. NEC CRL is doing interesting work in nanoelectronics, among other things.
